Kuwait’s AOU Organizes 21st ICABE for First Time in Mideast

Kuwait city: Kuwait's Arab Open University (AOU) hosted the 21st International Conference on Applied Business and Economics (ICABE) on Monday, marking the first occasion the conference is being held in the Middle East. The three-day event took place at the university's campus and gathered a select group of academics and experts from universities across the globe.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Dr. Salah Al-Hammadi, Director of AOU Kuwait, stated that hosting the conference reflects the university's commitment to supporting scientific research and enhancing international academic cooperation. Dr. Al-Hammadi noted that the conference, which was first launched in 2002 in London, has been held in various global cities, including Athens, New York, Paris, and Madrid, before coming to Kuwait. This year's theme is "Synergizing Innovation: The Global Nexus of Business, Technology, Education, and Economic Sustainability." The conference sees participation from over 100 researchers and academics from about 20 countries, who are presenting the latest research and innovations in technology, education, and economics, while also sharing experiences on the rapid developments in these pivotal sectors.

Dr. Kamal Nasser, co-chair of the conference, confirmed that the focus is on utilizing technology in education and sustainable economic development. He explained that sustainable development involves achieving a balance between profits, social responsibility, and conserving resources for future generations.

Dr. Afnan Al-Khaldi, AOU Kuwait's Vice President for Academic Affairs and Scientific Research, mentioned that the conference includes panel discussions, scientific papers, and sessions addressing topics such as economics, management strategy, and modern technology over the course of three days. She added that the conference's scientific committee received approximately 300 research papers from around the world, out of which 60 were selected for presentation during the conference sessions. Participating researchers will present their papers to specialized committees in various scientific sessions.
