Beirut: Acting Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah emphasized on Tuesday the deeply-rooted relations between Kuwait and Oman, asserting the shared destiny of the two nations and their leaderships. Sheikh Fahad made this statement to reporters during a ceremony organized by Oman’s Embassy in Kuwait to commemorate the 54th anniversary of Oman’s National Day, attended by several senior officials and heads of accredited diplomatic missions.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Sheikh Fahad extended his heartfelt congratulations to the government and people of Oman on this occasion, wishing for the continued progress and prosperity of the Sultanate under the leadership of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. He noted that Oman holds a special place in the hearts of Kuwaitis.
Meanwhile, Oman’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Dr. Saleh Al-Kharousi, highlighted the ongoing growth and development of Kuwait-Oman relations, citing recent meetings between the two leaders and the 10th K
uwait-Oman committee held last October. These engagements resulted in the signing of memorandums and executive programs across various fields, he mentioned.
The ambassador also referred to the joint Duqm Refinery project as a strategic initiative serving both nations. Al-Kharousi noted that trade exchange between Kuwait and Oman exceeded USD four billion this year, underscoring the strengthening economic ties.
