Kuwaitis Shine at Sheikh Ali Al-Sabah Shooting Tournament

Kuwait city: A number of Kuwait shooters have been crowned due to their performance in the late Sheikh Ali Al-Sabah annual shooting tournament concluded on Saturday. Shooter Hamad Al-Nashman won the first place in the men's 10-m air pistol, while Saud Al-Subaie came first in the 10-m air rifle. Salman Al-Enezi and Ali Al-Mutairi came first in the 25-meter pistol and the 50-meter rifle games respectively.

According to Kuwait News Agency, shooters Saad Al-Balood and Abdullah Malallah came first place in the Olympic archery and the compound archery competitions respectively. In the women's competitions, shooter Ghozlan Ali won the title in the 10-meter air pistol, while Maryam Arzouqi was crowned champion in the 10-meter air rifle event. Shooter Suad Al-Bahr and Hanan Al-Miyas took first place in the women's Olympic archery competition and in the compound archery events.

In Junior's contests, Rami Al-Subaie came first in the 10-m air rifle, while Retaj Al-Zaiadi won the women's title in the same game. Dana Al-Matouq came first in archery and Olympic game. Speaking to reporters after the end of the tournament, Sheikh Ali Thamer Ali Al-Sabah, the festival's sponsor, said the event is held annually to back Kuwait's male and female shooters who add achievements to the country's sports at international arenas. He added Kuwait Shooting Club's efforts resulted in success, stressing following the steps of Sheikh Ali Al-Sabah in support of athletes.

Meanwhile, President of the club Duaij Al-Otaibi said the tournament witnessed participation of Kuwaiti shooters in varied contests. He underlined the importance of such local events in upgrading the levels of Kuwaiti athletes.
