Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior (MoI) announced Sunday that 1.2 million Captagon pills, 250 kgs of hashish and 104 kgs of shabu were seized, as some persons attempted to smuggle them into the country.
First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Acting Minister of Defense Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah supervised checking the different seizures of narcotic substances, the Ministry’s security media and public relations department said in a statement.
The statement quoted Sheikh Talal Khaled as confirming that attempts to engulf the country with these devastating substances are run through professional methods, stressing that “we must make more efforts and stand firmly in the face of this danger”.
The minister affirmed that the ministry and its field and awareness sectors continue, in cooperation with the State institutions, to confront this scourge and harness all potential to in the face of all smuggling and promotion attempts that seek to undermine the country’s youth.
He thanked and appreciated the efforts made by the General Administration for Drug control (GADC) and the General Administration of the Coast Guard (GACG) in directing firmly and decisively successive strikes against smugglers and promoters of narcotic substances.
The GADC, in cooperation and coordination with the GACG, managed to seize about 250 kgs of hashish, when two people attempted to smuggle them into the country by sea, according to the statement.
