Kuwaiti Photographers Shine in Arab Astronomy Photography Contest

Kuwait city: The Al-Ojairi Scientific Center announced Saturday that six photographers from Kuwait and the Gulf region won top spots in the Arab Astronomy Photography Competition. The competition was held under the Center’s patronage in cooperation with the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), the Physics Department at Kuwait University, and under the umbrella of the Kuwait Space Research Center.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Director General of the Center, Yousef Al-Ojeiri, revealed that the competition attracted dozens of participants from Kuwait, the GCC, and other Arab countries. Entries were judged across three categories: “Blood Moon,” “Lunar Eclipse Phases,” and “Lunar Eclipse with Landscape.” Al-Ojeiri stated that the winning Kuwaiti photographers were Dawood Sebae, Sameera Mahmoud, and Khaled Al-Mutairi, who excelled in their respective categories.

Al-Ojeiri emphasized that such competitions help foster a passion for astronomy, which the Center and its partners aim to promote among students, academics, and astronomy enthusiasts.
