Kuwaiti Oil Official Highlights MoU with Saudi Arabia to Enhance Economic Cooperation

Kuwait city: The Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Oil, Dr. Sheikh Nimr Fahad Al-Sabah, emphasized that the recent memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Saudi Arabia marks a significant step forward in fostering economic and planning cooperation between the two nations.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Dr. Al-Sabah, who also chairs the Coordination Committee for Energy, Economy, Trade and Industry under the Kuwait-Saudi Coordination Council, noted that the MoU, signed on Monday, focuses on medium- and long-term planning. He highlighted that both Kuwait and Saudi Arabia bring substantial expertise and skilled personnel to the table, which will drive advancements benefiting both countries.

The MoU encompasses collaboration in areas such as economic studies, modeling, economic policies, governance of economic plans, and economic knowledge and media. It also targets leadership development and cooperation in the green, circular, and digital economies.

Dr. Al-Sabah further mentioned that the memorandum includes initiatives for joint efforts toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The cooperation will be facilitated through the exchange of expertise, information, studies, and expert visits, alongside organizing workshops and seminars.

He also confirmed that Kuwait has extended an invitation to Saudi counterparts on the Coordination Committee for Energy, Economy, Trade and Industry to attend the forthcoming meeting in Kuwait on December 2.
