Kuwaiti Official Announces Approval of Drafts to Boost Arab Cooperation

Kuwait city: Assistant Undersecretary at the Kuwait Ministry of Finance for General Budget Affairs Saad Al-Alati announced that the Arab League's Economic and Social Council, during its 116th ordinary session, has approved draft resolutions aimed at enhancing Arab joint action and supporting economic integration among Arab countries. Al-Alati's remarks were made on Tuesday. According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Alati noted that the council also discussed the preparation of the economic and social file for the upcoming 35th Arab Summit, which is scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia next year. The session addressed various critical issues, including the developments of the Arab customs union, investment across Arab nations, support for the Palestinian economy, and the establishment of the Arab Drug Agency. The session occurred amidst challenging circumstances in the Arab region, marked by the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people by the Israeli occupation. This was highlighted by the Permanent Repr esentative of Tunisia to the Arab League, Ambassador Mohammad Youssef, during his opening speech. He reiterated Tunisia's dedication to supporting joint Arab efforts in the economic, social, and developmental arenas, with a particular focus on the Arab free trade area. Arab League Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs, Ambassador Dr. Ali Al-Maliki, reaffirmed the League's commitment to monitoring the implementation of the council's decisions. The summit also covered discussions on establishing an Arab fund for Yemen's reconstruction, the Greater Arab Free Trade Area, the Arab Customs Union, and further investments in Arab countries, alongside other significant Arab issues.
