Kuwait city: The Kuwaiti Namaa Charity inaugurated five water wells in the Yemeni Governorates of Hodeidah and Lahj to provide displaced people with essential access to drinking water. This initiative aims to address the urgent needs of communities affected by ongoing conflicts.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Namaa Charity's Deputy CEO, Abdulaziz Al-Kandari, stated in a press release that the wells are intended to offer clean and sustainable water, thereby improving health and living conditions by reducing the spread of waterborne diseases. Al-Kandari highlighted that this project is part of the "Kuwait by Your Side" campaign, which has been ongoing for 11 years, dedicated to alleviating the suffering of war-traumatized Yemeni people.
Al-Kandari pointed out that, prior to the construction of the wells, displaced children and women had to travel long distances to obtain limited amounts of water from unsafe sources. He noted that the beneficiaries have expressed their gratitude to the State of Kuwait for its continuous humanitarian support and its sincere fraternal stance towards the Yemeni people.
