Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Highlights EU Partnership in GCC Cooperation

Kuwait city: Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya, who currently serves as the Chairman of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministerial Council, underscored the significance of the European Union (EU) as a pivotal partner in fostering stability and promoting an international order rooted in respect for international law and non-interference in the internal affairs of states. According to Kuwait News Agency, the Secretary-General of the GCC, Jassim Al-Budaiwi, expressed the Council's view of the European Union as a strategic ally in supporting international peace and security. He highlighted the importance of enhancing joint cooperation to tackle regional challenges, stabilize energy markets, ensure maritime security, and safeguard vital waterways. High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaya Kallas, also emphasized the necessity of strengthening European-Gulf cooperation to address regional and international challenges. She advocated for diplomatic solution s to achieve security and stability in the Middle East. In related developments, Kuwaiti Finance Ministry Undersecretary Aseel Al-Munifi stressed the importance of bolstering economic cooperation among GCC countries. She emphasized the alignment of visions for joint economic actions to achieve strategic goals and comprehensive development. In another achievement, Kuwait concluded its participation in the 3rd West Asian U20 Athletics Championships for men and women, held in Beirut, securing a total of 16 medals across various categories.
