Kuwaiti Falconers Lead Int’l Competition in Bahrain

Manama: Ahmad Youssuf and Ahmad Abal-Qolub, of Kuwait, made significant achievements in the international races of the 11th Nasser bin Hamad Season for Falcons and Hunting competition. Al-Youssuf led the Gyr Shaheen Qarnas race while Abal-Qolub won the Harrar Farrokh race, surpassing competitors from Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the competition featured nearly 250 birds and falconers from across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member countries and was held at the Falcon Grounds, south of Bahrain International Endurance Village. Mohammad Al-Marri, the chief organizer of the competition, commended the technical performance of participants in press remarks following the event.

He noted the impressive presence of participants from across the Gulf region and beyond, attributing it to the growing popularity of the traditional sport and heritage of the region.
