Doha: Hussein Al-Kharafi, a Kuwaiti equestrian, ranked first in the 1.20 m. hurdling race - one star against the clock category, of the opening round of the Longines Global Champions Tour of the Global Champions League 2025 in Doha on Wednesday. His compatriot Ali Al-Kharafi finished second in the 1.45 m. hurdling - the three stars against the clock category. Oliver Lazarus, of South Africa, led the race while Spain's Mariano Martinez ranked third. According to Kuwait News Agency, the Longines Global Champions Tour event, which opened earlier today, is a four-day competition gathering more than 271 equestrians from 35 countries. These skilled participants are competing for prizes amounting in value to 1.1 million euros (USD 1.15 million).
