Kuwaiti Crown Prince Engages in Talks with Chinese Deputy President

Kuwait city: His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Chinese Deputy President Han Zheng held an official round of talks. The discussions underscore the strengthening bilateral relationships between Kuwait and China, focusing on various aspects of mutual interest, including economic cooperation and strategic partnerships.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) has signed a USD 2 million grant agreement with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to aid vulnerable communities in Sudan. This agreement aims to provide essential support and relief to those affected by ongoing challenges in the region.

The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) has also entered into a USD 2.5 million grant agreement with the ICRC. This initiative is focused on delivering critical health and clean water services in Somalia, addressing urgent humanitarian needs.

Furthering its commitment to global humanitarian efforts, Kuwait’s foreign ministry is conducting the fourth round of high-level “strategic dialogue” with the ICRC. This dialogue seeks to enhance cooperation and address pressing global issues.

In Bangladesh, Kuwait’s Tanmeia Charity Society has launched a five-day humanitarian mission. The mission targets Rohingya refugee camps and impoverished areas, continuing its relief, development, and medical efforts.

In Vienna, several nations, including Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, UAE, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and Oman, have agreed on a production adjustment of 137,000 barrels per day. This decision follows the 1.65 million bpd additional voluntary adjustments announced in April 2023.

In Kuwait, Aljarida newspaper and Ooredoo Fintech have initiated their fourth summit to explore investment opportunities in sectors such as data centers, financial, medical, and real estate technology.

Kuwaiti Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah has reaffirmed his dedication to advancing military training and education systems. His focus remains on enhancing the capabilities and readiness of the nation’s defense forces.

Additionally, Kuwait’s Acting Director-General of the Public Authority for Agriculture and Fish Resources, Salem Al-Hai, has engaged in discussions with Sudan’s Minister of Animal and Fisheries Resources, Ahmed El-Tijani. They aim to enhance mutual cooperation in food security and natural resources management.

In regional developments, the Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club have reported the killing of a Palestinian prisoner in an Israeli occupation prison.

Meanwhile, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has urged Arab countries to press the international community to compel the Israeli occupation to withdraw from Lebanese territories and release Lebanese prisoners.

In Beirut, the Lebanese Health Ministry has reported that Israeli occupation forces launched a drone attack on southern Lebanon, resulting in four fatalities and three injuries.
