Kuwait City: Kuwait-based business groups are planning to ratchet up investment in Albania given the opportunities the Balkan nation has to offer, Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) said on Sunday, citing food security and sustainable energy as the key sectors. Kuwait's economic ties with Albania date back more than 55 years, having only grown in proximity since then, a KCCI statement said after joint Kuwaiti-Albanian talks bringing together business groups from both nations, an initiative aiming to keep such relations on an upward trajectory, it underlined. According to Kuwait News Agency, the statement highlighted the "appropriate timeframe" of talks at a time where Kuwait is accelerating efforts to "diversify" the national economy through allowing the private sector more leeway in contributing to economic development plans, it added. Commenting on the talks, the visiting Albanian delegation's chief and head of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Nikolin Jaka said that Tirana aims to familiarize K uwaiti business groups with crucial sectors to invest in, which run the gamut from real estate and tourism to agriculture, promising would-be investors a hassle-free experience, according to the statement.
