Kuwait city: Kuwait's national fencing team celebrated a successful campaign at the West Asia Fencing Championship in Bahrain, clinching a total of 35 medals, including three silver and one bronze on the final day of the event. The team concluded the championship with an impressive haul of eight gold, 13 silver, and 14 bronze medals. According to Kuwait News Agency, the head of Kuwait's delegation, Rashed Al-Shamali, expressed his satisfaction with the athletes' performance, particularly in the Epee and Foil contests for the U-17 category. He congratulated the national team on their achievements and attributed their success to the ongoing support from the club and the Public Authority for Sports, led by Acting Director General Bashar Abdullah. Al-Shamali also highlighted the State's commitment to nurturing athletic talent. Furthermore, Al-Shamali extended his gratitude to Bahrain for hosting the championship, which featured participation from 310 athletes representing 10 countries. The event was a significa nt platform for showcasing regional talent in fencing. Athletes Khaled Al-Hawli and Sahar Al-Omair shared their delight with KUNA, expressing pride in the team's accomplishments. They noted that this success would serve as motivation for continued efforts to elevate Kuwait's standing in the sporting arena.
