Kuwaiti and Somali Foreign Ministers Discuss Somaliland Issue at OIC Meeting

Jeddah: Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Ali Abdullah Al-Yahya met with Somali Foreign Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali on the sidelines of the 22nd extraordinary session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The meeting focused on bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields, as well as the situation in Somalia following the recognition of Somaliland as an independent state by Israeli occupation authorities.

According to Kuwait News Agency, both ministers expressed their view that the recognition of Somaliland was a breach of Somalia's sovereignty and a violation of international law and the UN Charter. They emphasized the importance of maintaining Somalia's territorial integrity.

The two foreign ministers agreed to continue their coordination and consultation within the framework of the OIC and other international platforms. Their aim is to contribute to regional security and stability through ongoing dialogue and cooperation.
