Kuwaiti Ambassador Joins Anzac Day Commemoration in New Zealand

Wellington: Kuwaiti Ambassador to New Zealand Sheikh Sabah Nasser Al-Sabah participated in the Anzac Day event in Wellington, attended by New Zealand's Finance Minister Nicola Willis and members of the diplomatic corps. The event, held on April 25, honors New Zealanders who served and died for their country, as well as Australians and New Zealanders who fought in the Gallipoli campaign during World War I. According to Kuwait News Agency, the Kuwaiti participation is considered a gesture of gratitude for the 75 New Zealand troops and medical staff who played a role in the 1991 campaign to liberate Kuwait from the Iraqi invasion of 1990. A statement by the embassy expressed Kuwait's appreciation to the families, troops, and participants who celebrated Anzac Day, affirming that the Kuwaiti involvement is part of efforts to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
