Kuwaiti Ambassador Highlights Support to UNHCR in New Delhi

New delhi: Kuwaiti Ambassador to India Mishaal Al-Shamali emphasized Kuwait's contributions to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), highlighting the nation's commitment to addressing the global responsibilities of alleviating refugees' suffering. According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Shamali made these remarks during a meeting with UNHCR Chief of Mission for India and Maldives, Areti Sianni, in New Delhi. The meeting underscored the strong partnership and cooperation between Kuwait and the UNHCR, as noted in a press release issued by the Kuwaiti Embassy in New Delhi. The ambassador pointed out that Kuwait's support for the UNHCR's activities is a fundamental aspect of the agency's ability to carry out its mission consistently. Sianni expressed gratitude for Kuwait's contributions, which aid humanitarian organizations in fulfilling their roles. She also elaborated on the UNHCR's operations in India, which include providing assistance to refugees and asylum seekers from various nationalities.
