Kuwait city: The State of Kuwait expressed its approval of the initial phase of a plan proposed by US President Donald Trump, aimed at establishing a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and initiating negotiations to end the ongoing conflict and alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people in the region.
According to Kuwait News Agency, a statement from the Foreign Ministry highlighted Kuwait's support for international efforts aimed at implementing the ceasefire and facilitating the immediate entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. The statement emphasized that these initiatives would contribute to enhancing security and peace in the region, while also acknowledging the positive roles played by Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the US, and Turkiye in reaching this agreement.
The State of Kuwait reiterated its firm support for the Palestinian people's right to establish an independent state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. This position aligns with international legitimacy, the Arab Peace Initiative, and the New York Declaration on the two-state solution, as stated by the ministry. The ministry also emphasized that a just and comprehensive peace is essential for achieving stability in the Middle East.
