Kuwait city: The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday expressed approval of French President Emmanuel Macron's declared intention to officially recognize the State of Palestine.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the ministry issued a press release commending this step as a means to support the implementation of United Nations Security Council resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative. This move is seen as a way to enable the Palestinian people to achieve self-determination and establish an independent state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The ministry also urged other countries to adopt similar measures to work towards a fair and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian issue.
