Kuwait City: Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Justice and Deputy Chairman of the National Committee for Combating Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants, Tareq Al-Asfour, met with the Regional Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in GCC countries, Hatem Ali, to discuss joint cooperation.
According to Kuwait News Agency, both parties emphasized their commitment to combating drugs and crimes through knowledge sharing, expertise, and the organization of training programs. These efforts aim to align with international advancements and achieve integration in institutional performance, as stated by the Ministry of Justice in a press release.
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in GCC countries aims to enhance its cooperation with relevant Kuwaiti state bodies. This initiative seeks to strengthen Kuwait's regional role and equip national staff with experience and modern tools in accordance with existing agreements and commitments.
