Kuwait city: Kuwait will host, for the first time, the FIP World Cup Pairs Padel Championship, which kicks off on Monday, November 3, and runs until November 9 at Arena 360 Mall. The tournament will feature more than 250 players from around the world and is held under the sponsorship of BNK Holding.

According to Kuwait News Agency, during a press conference held on Sunday, Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Sports, Bashar Abdullah, emphasized the significance of the event for Kuwait’s sports scene. He described it as a source of inspiration and encouragement for youth to engage in sports and a step forward in elevating Kuwait’s status in the global padel community. Abdullah noted that the Authority fully supports this major sporting event, highlighting the strong turnout during the preliminary rounds as evidence of the growing popularity of padel in Kuwait.

He pointed out that the success of last year’s Premier Padel Kuwait P1 tournament was the result of close cooperation between government bodies and the private sector’s collaboration, which resonated both locally and internationally. Abdullah reiterated the Authority’s commitment to promoting sports across the country, expressing gratitude to the organizers and sponsors, and wishing them success in hosting this championship.

On his part, Tournament Director Mishal Al-Ansari stated that the championship provides a unique opportunity for top players to compete and connect, noting that it will be held every two years. Al-Ansari confirmed that the organizing committee is fully prepared to host this world-class event, which reflects Kuwait’s growing reputation for organizing major international tournaments. He extended his appreciation to all government entities and sponsors that facilitated the event and expressed optimism for the continued growth of padel in Kuwait.

The official tournament draw was conducted during the press conference, with the presence of Jose Luis, Head of the Referees and Tour Supervisor for FIP, to determine the competition groups.
