Kuwait City: The 29th edition of the 2025 IHF Men's World Championship is set to commence Tuesday evening with a lineup of four matches, including Kuwait's clash against Austria. Co-hosted by Croatia, Denmark, and Norway, the tournament features 32 participating countries and will run until February 2. Kuwait's national team, which boasts the highest number of Asian participations in the history of the IHF Men's World Championship with nine appearances, is making its return after a 16-year break. Their last participation was in 2009, also held in Croatia. The team, led by Algerian coach Said Hadjazi, aims to advance as far as possible in the competition. According to Kuwait News Agency, five other Arab teams will also compete in the championship. These include Qatar, Bahrain, Egypt, Tunisia, and Algeria. The presence of these teams highlights the growing involvement of Arab nations in the international handball scene.
