Geneva: The State of Kuwait emphasized the critical importance of preserving Sudan's unity, sovereignty, and stability while advocating for a ceasefire agreement between conflicting parties.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Kuwait's Permanent Mission to the UN and Other International Organizations in Geneva conveyed these sentiments during the Enhanced Interactive Dialogue on the Report of the High Commissioner on the Sudan. Deputy Permanent Representative Counselor Abdullah Al-Khubaizi highlighted Kuwait's concerns regarding the humanitarian impact of the ongoing conflict in Sudan, which has adversely affected more than 25 million people.
Al-Khubaizi praised Sudan's collaboration with human rights mechanisms and underscored the necessity of adhering to the Jeddah Declaration. He also emphasized the importance of engaging in a comprehensive political process to achieve a lasting resolution to the crisis.
Additionally, Al-Khubaizi urged the international community to enhance diplomatic efforts to support Sudan in overcoming this challenging period, aiming to establish lasting peace and stability in the region.
