Kuwait stocks rebound, buoyed by top stock trading

KUWAIT, March 15 (KUNA) — Kuwaiti stocks bounced back on Wednesday, buoyed by trading in the stocks of leading sectors, mainly the banking one, only an hour after opening, following Tuesday’s slump due to Silicon Valley Bank collapse aftershocks. Boursa Kuwait’s All-Share Market Index edged up by 67.8 points to 7090.97, up by 0.97 percent, at 10.15 am local time.

The Main Market Index rose by 21.08 points to 5386.93 points, up 0.39 percent, and the Premier Market also went up by 84.5 points to 7911.96 points, up 1.08 percent.

Silicon Valley Bank bankruptcy crisis on Tuesday affected the trade of Kuwaiti banks’ shares at Boursa Kuwait, as was the case with Gulf financial markets. (end) mka.mt
