Kuwait sees 6,436 new COVID-19 cases, two deaths

Kuwait on Tuesday said 6,436 more people tested positive for COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, taking the country’s caseload to 552,153, health ministry data showed.

Some 5,685 more people recovered from the virus to up the number of those to have overcome the disease to 497,187, according to ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, adding that the recovery to positive case ratio stands at 90 percent. Two fatalities linked to the virus upped the country’s death toll from the pandemic to 2,499, while 482 people are hospitalized with the virus, 90 of whom need intensive care, he told KUNA. Some 36,300 swab tests were conducted over the last day, out of a total of 6,949,424 so far, added the spokesman.
