Kuwait reports nine COVID-19 deaths, 1,429 infections

Kuwait’s Ministry of Health on Friday reported nine new COVID-19 deaths, and 1,429 infections in the past 24 hours.

The Ministry’s spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the death toll increased to 1,563, and the caseload to 273,991 since the pandemic outbreak.

He added that recoveries have reached 257,261, after 1,444 patients recovered from coronavirus today making the recovery rate 93.89 percent out of the conducted tests.

Moreover, 219 patients are being treated at the intensive care units, where 15,167 patients in total are receiving health care, he said.

Meanwhile, over the past 24 hours 9,865 tests were conducted, with infection rate 14.49 percent, making the total conducted tests 2,326,703, he added.

Al-Sanad renewed his call on the public to maintain social distancing, and to abide with all health regulations that would help in stopping the virus spread.
