Kuwait city: Chairperson of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Khaled Al-Maghames announced on Saturday that a planeload of urgent humanitarian supplies destined for Gaza is set to depart for Egypt's Al-Arish Airport on Sunday. This marks the commencement of a relief aid bridge designed to deliver essential supplies to the Gazans.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the operation is being coordinated with the ministries of social and foreign affairs, alongside the Egyptian and Palestinian Red Crescent societies. The relief supplies will be dispatched from Abdullah Al-Mubarak Air Base, traveling to Al-Arish Airport before reaching Gaza, where residents are facing dire humanitarian conditions due to severe shortages of food and medical supplies.
A logistical team is in charge of transporting the supplies in partnership with the Kuwait Flour Mills and Bakeries Company to the air base. Al-Maghames expressed gratitude to the ministries of foreign, defense, and social affairs for their support. He emphasized the collaboration with the Egyptian Red Crescent Society to ensure the aid reaches the Gaza Strip and commended individuals, associations, and charities in Kuwait for their contributions to the campaign.
Al-Maghames also extended thanks to the political leadership of Kuwait, including Their Highnesses the Amir, the Crown Prince, and the Prime Minister, for their continued support of humanitarian efforts and commitment to assisting afflicted populations. This initiative reflects Kuwait's longstanding policy of aiding those in need.
The Egyptian Al-Arish Airport, located approximately 45 kilometers from Gaza's borders, will serve as the aid's entry point.
