Kuwait City: Kuwait's Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Talal Al-Mutairi, emphasized Kuwait's dedication to enhancing Arab-Chinese cooperation by fostering dialogue and participating actively in Arab-Chinese platforms.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Mutairi made these remarks during a phone statement on Sunday, as he led Kuwait's delegation at the 20th Senior Officials Meeting of the Arab-China Cooperation Forum and the 9th Arab-China Strategic Political Dialogue in Rabat, Morocco. He also expressed appreciation for Morocco's role in hosting the meeting.
Al-Mutairi highlighted the expanding relationship between Arab nations and China in numerous sectors. He pointed out China's supportive stance on Arab issues, which contributes to stability and security in the region.
The ambassador also discussed the evolution of Kuwait-China relations, noting that Kuwait was the first Gulf and Arab nation to establish diplomatic relations with China in 1971. Kuwait was also the first to sign a memorandum of understanding under China's Belt and Road Initiative following its launch in 2013. Additionally, China has been Kuwait's leading trading partner for ten years in a row.
The meeting underscored significant alignment on regional and international issues and explored areas of cooperation aimed at enhancing mutual understanding and benefiting both sides.
