Kuwait City: His Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, has called upon relevant ministers to expedite the implementation of agreements and memoranda of understanding between Kuwait and China. This directive was issued during a meeting focused on reviewing the progress of these bilateral accords.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the 16th meeting of the committee examined the status of various projects under the agreements between Kuwait and China. Key areas of focus included cooperation in the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project, advancements in the electrical power system, and developments in renewable energy and low-carbon green systems for waste recycling. The discussions also covered housing development, environmental infrastructure for wastewater treatment plants, and the establishment of free and economic zones.
The meeting further explored ways to expand cooperation and strategic partnerships, emphasizing investment and economic opportunities with China. The aim is to accelerate the execution of these significant projects in alignment with Kuwait's development vision.
Ambassador Samih Jawhar Hayat, the Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs and rapporteur of the Ministerial Committee, provided a comprehensive overview of the existing cooperation, consultation, and coordination between the governments of Kuwait and China.
The meeting saw the participation of several key ministers, including Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Minister of Public Works, Abdullatif Al-Mishari, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs, Noura Al-Fassam, Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic and Investment Affairs, Dr. Sabeeh Al-Mukhaizeem, Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Sheikh Dr. Meshal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Director General of the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority, Salah Al-Majed, Head of the Fatwa and Legislation Department, and Ambassador Samih Jawhar Hayat.
