Kuwait city: His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah has instructed the ministerial committee responsible for managing agreements with the People's Republic of China to ensure the effective implementation of these accords. The directive was given during the 24th ministerial meeting held at Bayan Palace, where the focus was on the progress of various joint Kuwait-China initiatives.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the meeting concentrated on several key projects including the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project, renewable energy development, housing, environmental infrastructure for sewage treatment plants, eco-friendly recycling, cooperation in combating desertification, and sustainable agriculture. His Highness the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of overseeing the execution of the national plan and evaluating the impact of future development projects on both economic and environmental levels.
Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs and Committee Rapporteur Ambassador Sameeh Johar Hayat provided an in-depth briefing on the status of the Kuwait-China agreements and MoUs. He highlighted that the meeting was centered on assessing the performance of Chinese companies involved in these initiatives as well as the steps taken by Kuwaiti entities. This assessment is being conducted through diplomatic channels with the Chinese government to further the ongoing bilateral cooperation.
The meeting was attended by key officials including Head of the Diwan of the Prime Minister Abdulaziz Al-Dakhil, Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Meshan, and other notable ministers and department heads. Their presence underscored the significance of these strategic agreements and the collaborative efforts between Kuwait and China.
