Kuwait City: Kuwait participated in the 3rd annual seminar on the independence of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) in the Arab Region, organized by the Jordanian Audit Bureau in cooperation with the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).
According to Kuwait News Agency, during his opening speech, Jordanian Senate President Faisal Al-Fayez emphasized the importance of SAIs as the backbone of good governance to ensure compliance with laws and administrative standards. He mentioned that challenges such as political or executive interference could weaken their effectiveness, limiting their ability to make impartial decisions.
Jordanian Audit Bureau President Dr. Radhi Al-Hamadeen added that the independence of SAIs is a fundamental pillar of democracy and a guarantee for combatting corruption on all levels. The seminar will see about 40 officials from Arab countries and Arab SAIs discuss and exchange ideas to support the independence and empowerment of SAIs.
Participating from Kuwait was Undersecretary of the Kuwait State Audit Bureau (SAB) Yousef Al-Mazrouei.
