Kuwait partakes in 2022 Biathlon and Triathlon World Championship

Kuwaiti pentathlon team started its first participation in the Biathlon and Triathlon World Championship, which is being held in Portugal and will last until October 31.

Head of the Kuwaiti delegation to the event, Faisal Al-Hamad said Friday it is the first official participation of Kuwait in this game.

He told KUNA in a statement that Fatma Bu Shehri and Ahmad Al-Amir took part in the biathlon and got the ninth place, while Amira Al-Mordi and Abdullah Al-Awadhi obtained the 14th position in the triathlon competition.

The competition began Thursday and will continue until Monday, and is one of the largest event in terms of the numbers of players totaling 626 males and females, he said.

Al-Hamad elaborated that the modern pentathlon is divided into several races, namely biathlon, triathlon and pentathlon.

He referred that Kuwaitis are participating in the Biathlon’s running and swimming, and Triathlon’s running, shooting and swimming on an individual and team basis.
