Kuwait parliament speaker inaugurates follow-up session to examine budgets

— National Assembly Speaker Ahmad Al-Saadoun inaugurated early on Wednesday the follow-up regular session notably amending the parliament by-laws and endorsing state budgets.

The agenda features reports by parliamentary committees with respect of bills, draft and proposed laws. One of the proposed laws addresses modification of some provisions of the parliament by-laws, another concerns changing the term “domestic worker” with “maid.”

Other bills stipulate endorsement of final account for many government, affiliate and independent departments for the fiscal years, 2018-2019 and 2019-2020, deal with reports by relevant supervisory bodies, in addition to adoption of final accounts of the same departments for the fiscal years, 2011-2012 and 2015-2016.

Also high on the schedule is a term regarding the Amiri Address that had marked inauguration of the first regular session of the parliament for its 17th legislative term.

Moreover, on the table are requests for forming parliamentary probe panels particularly with respect of status of the industrial plots and their distribution. Furthermore, the dossiers include reports by the Audit Bureau in addition to a heap of miscellaneous bills.
