Kuwait city: The Supreme Committee for Food and Water Safety at the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN) has recommended lifting the ban on all poultry imports from Brazil. This decision comes after the avian influenza virus, commonly known as Bird Flu, has been declared no longer a threat.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the ban previously encompassed all forms of poultry, including fresh, chilled, frozen, and processed meats, as well as derivatives and related products. The move to lift the ban is seen as a response to the successful containment of the avian influenza virus.
In contrast, PAFN has announced on its X platform that it will implement a ban on imports of fresh, chilled, processed, and frozen poultry meat from several regions of the US due to an ongoing avian influenza outbreak. The only exception to this ban will be products that have been pasteurized at a temperature of 70 degrees Celsius.
