Kuwait Oil Ministry Unveils Virtual Broadcaster “Nouf” for VR and 360-Degree News

Kuwait city: The Kuwaiti Ministry of Oil announced the launch of "Nouf," a virtual broadcaster that presents news bulletins using virtual reality (VR) technologies and 360-degree videos, marking a first for ministries and the oil sector in Kuwait. This development is seen as a significant achievement for the Ministry's Public Relations and Media Department.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Ministry stated that this innovative experience allows viewers to follow news bulletins through interactive mechanisms. Viewers can watch these bulletins without the need for VR glasses by simply moving their smartphones. The virtual broadcaster can be viewed from various angles, delivering the news while standing or sitting, with dynamic visual backgrounds reflecting the news content.

The Director of the Public Relations and Media Department, Sheikha Tamader Al-Sabah, emphasized that this project demonstrates the Ministry's commitment to digital transformation and the use of artificial intelligence in media. This initiative aligns with the "New Kuwait 2035" vision, prioritizing digital advancement. She expressed pride in this step, which represents a shift in media communication tools and methods, and showcases the Ministry's efforts to align with global trends in digital media and artificial intelligence.

To allow public engagement, the Ministry of Oil has made a test video available on YouTube, offering the public an opportunity to experience this new technology firsthand.
