Kuwait Navy Transfers Command of Combined Task Force to Qatar

Manama: The Kuwaiti Naval Force has officially transferred command of the Combined Task Force 152 to the Qatari Amiri Navy during a ceremony at the central command of the American Naval Forces in Bahrain. This event marks a significant change in leadership within the naval coalition.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the ceremony was attended by the Commander of Kuwait Naval Forces, Rear Admiral Saif Al-Hamlan. Kuwait had been in command of the Combined Task Force since August 2024, a tenure that ended in September 2025. During this period, Kuwait played a crucial role in enhancing naval security and operational coordination among the participating countries to reinforce navigation in the Arabian Gulf.

The statement from the Kuwait Army Chairmanship of Staff highlighted Kuwait's efforts in strengthening cooperation with regional and international partners. This included exchanging expertise and information, reflecting Kuwait's active role in promoting global maritime security and stability.

Moving forward, the Kuwaiti navy has pledged to continue its collaborative efforts as part of the Combined Maritime Force (CMF). The focus will remain on increasing readiness to address maritime challenges effectively.
