Doha: Kuwait Winter Games Club announced on Tuesday that the Curling National team will participate in the Qatar International Open, which kicks off on Wednesday in Doha. The club president, Fehaid Al-Ajmi, confirmed that the national team will be represented by Saud Al-Kanderi and Fatima Abdullatif.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Ajmi noted that the team's participation in this three-day international event is part of their preparation for upcoming competitions. Curling is recognized as one of the key Winter Olympic sports, and there is hope that the team will achieve a good result in the tournament.
Al-Ajmi emphasized the club's dedication to developing its five sports, which include curling, speed skating, ice hockey, figure skating, and skating. All of these disciplines are Olympic sports. The national team will compete alongside teams from the host nation Qatar, as well as Saudi Arabia, India, and Belgium.
