Kuwait MoI and Food Authority Uncover Illegal Food Production in Mishref

Kuwait city: Kuwait's Ministry of Interior (MoI) reported that Hawally Security Directorate police officers arrested two individuals, an Arab and an Asian, for allegedly transforming a rented house in Mishref into an unauthorized facility for producing adulterated food.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the suspects were found to have mixed oils with various substances and sold the resulting blend as locally made ghee. They also falsified countries of origin on products and unlawfully sold numerous consumer goods. The ministry disclosed this information in a press statement.

The raid was a collaborative effort involving the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN), Kuwait Municipality, and other agencies. As a result, the site was sealed, goods were seized, and the suspects were referred to the competent authorities for further action.

PAFN highlighted violations such as operating without a health license, maintaining poor hygiene conditions, and unauthorized repackaging of goods. The Kuwait Municipality noted misuse of the property, further emphasizing the illegal activities conducted at the site.

The ministry stated that this operation is part of ongoing efforts to safeguard public health and combat commercial fraud in the region.
