Kuwait MoI and Customs Team Successfully Seize 47 kg of Marijuana in Smuggling Bust

Kuwait city: The Ministry of Interior announced on Tuesday that it had foiled the smuggling of 47 kilograms of marijuana into the country. This operation marks a significant achievement in the ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking activities in Kuwait.

According to Kuwait News Agency, this successful operation was a result of the collaboration between the Ministry of Interior and the General Administration of Customs. The ministry's press release highlighted that the operation took place during a search initiative, leading to the apprehension of two suspects attempting to smuggle marijuana from a foreign source.

A task force from the General Department of Drug Control swiftly arrested the first suspect upon his receipt of the shipment. The second suspect, who was deployed to the Jahra Industrial Area to collect the contraband, faced arrest after a confrontational encounter with security patrols. His efforts to evade capture resulted in a collision that endangered public safety. Despite the resistance, law enforcement officials managed to subdue him. Subsequent investigations revealed his criminal history, particularly in drug trafficking activities.

The Ministry of Interior has reiterated its commitment to combating drug-related crimes and enhancing collaboration with relevant authorities to safeguard society. This operation underscores the ministry's dedication to apprehending individuals who pose threats to national security.
