Kuwait Ministry of Electricity and World Bank Discuss 2024 Reform Initiatives

KUWAIT CITY: Teams from the Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy and the World Bank convened to discuss new reforms as part of the World Bank's 2024 program. The initiative focuses on enhancing Kuwait's standing in the business environment improvement program. According to Kuwait News Agency, the meeting, held on Wednesday, involved a comprehensive review of advanced electronic systems designed for the management, operation, and maintenance of the ministry's assets. Key technologies discussed included the geographical information system (GIS), unified communication systems, and outage management systems. These systems are intended to ensure the reliable delivery of power and water services to investors, while also supporting the ministry's future renewable energy projects. The ministry emphasized the role of its sophisticated e-service system, which caters to all segments of customs involving investors. The meeting participants acknowledged its importance in streamlining services and promoting efficiency. Both teams agreed to reconvene in the near future to further assess the implementation of the ministry's new reforms.
