Kuwait Marine Rescue Department Receives Over 800 Distress Calls Since January

Kuwait city: Colonel Bader Al-Kadam, Director of Kuwait Fire Force Marine Firefighting Department, has reported that the division has received 813 calls for help since January 1st. These calls were due to issues including boats' malfunction, fires, and drowning cases.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Col. Al-Kadam stated that marine rescue personnel have been responding to distress calls with utmost seriousness. They quickly engage, particularly when human lives are at risk. The teams are trained to handle emergencies such as drowning, fires on ships, or missing cases, and they remain ready around the clock to intervene and save lives.

The rescue teams use speedboats and wireless communication equipment to manage emergencies. Operations are coordinated with the coast guards and other authorities through a joint operation room. Col. Al-Kadam noted that summer is particularly busy for the rescuers and advised sea goers to follow safety directions and guidelines.

The rescue department, established in 1998, ensures that its personnel receive special training to operate in volatile and risky conditions.
