Kuwait city: President of Kuwait’s Supreme Judicial Council and Court of Cassation, Dr. Adel Bouresli, emphasized the significance of judicial cooperation among GCC states in enhancing joint Gulf efforts and advancing the judicial system across the region. This statement was made during his opening remarks at the 11th periodic meeting of GCC Presidents of Supreme and Cassation Courts, held in Kuwait.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Bouresli highlighted that the meeting serves as a crucial platform for bridging gaps, exchanging ideas, and addressing challenges related to the enforcement of judicial rulings among member states. The collaborative efforts aim to fortify the legal frameworks within the GCC.
Assistant Secretary-General for Legal and Legislative Affairs at the GCC, Advisor Sultan Al-Suwaidi, remarked that judicial collaboration is pivotal for Gulf integration and a vital tool for upholding the rule of law and ensuring justice. Al-Suwaidi outlined the meeting’s agenda, which includes several initiatives designed to strengthen cooperation. These include a unified judicial cooperation policy, an electronic Gulf judicial journal, a digital platform for judicial principles, and an e-book compiling key rulings and new legal precedents.
Al-Suwaidi added that these initiatives represent a significant advancement in judicial integration, enriching Gulf legal resources, and promoting alignment among member states’ legal systems. This effort reinforces the principle of a unified judicial reference within the Gulf region.
