Kuwait International Quran Competition Highlights Commitment to Holy Scripture.

Cairo: The 13th Kuwait International Quran Recitation and Memorization Competition showcased Kuwait's dedication to promoting the Holy Scripture, with Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohammad Al-Wasmi describing it as a "beacon" in serving the Quran. The event, inaugurated under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, underscored the nation's commitment to Islamic unity and brotherhood. According to Kuwait News Agency, Dr. Al-Wasmi emphasized the importance of the competition in strengthening ties within the Ummah (nation) and expressed the honor it is to serve the Holy Quran. He highlighted efforts to enhance the competition's program annually by incorporating new technological evaluation methods alongside traditional ones. The minister expressed gratitude to the organizing committee and participants, acknowledging their efforts in promoting Quranic sciences and discovering new reciting talents. In the recitation category, Indonesia emerged victorious, fol lowed by Malaysia, Bangladesh, Iran, and Thailand. The full Quran memorization competition saw Uganda claim the top spot, with participants from Somalia, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Egypt trailing. The junior division was led by Bangladesh, with the United States, Algeria, Palestine, and Iran completing the ranks.
