Kuwait city: Minister of Information Abdulrahman Almutairi affirmed on Wednesday that the Kuwait Jeopark project, overseen by Kuwait Oil Company, is a promising national initiative that will contribute to tourism promotion. The Ministry of Information stated that Almutairi, who also serves as the Minister of Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, made this affirmation during his reception of a KOC delegation.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the delegation included Mohammad Al-Basri, director of public relations and media, Bedour Sayyed Omar, head of the media team, Nasser Al-Hajri, chief of the maintenance team, and Meshaal Al-Mazyad, chief officer of public relations. They presented a comprehensive review of the project to the minister, which is set to open in late December.
Minister Almutairi emphasized that this venture enriches national tourism and engages visitors in cultural, environmental, and entertainment activities. He noted that it offers opportunities for youth to learn about the Kuwaiti environment and its geological history. Furthermore, the statement highlighted Kuwait Jeopark's aim to solidify the country's status as a global tourism destination in geology, relics, and environmental heritage.
The project is located north of Kuwait Bay and includes two zones: one covering 20 square kilometers and the other spanning 1,000 square kilometers, featuring 300 wild plants. It will also offer restaurants, handicraft stores, a space-scanning platform, and various facilities.
