Kuwait city: Kuwait's Information Minister Abdularahman Al-Mutairi on Monday announced the winners of an annual award recognizing standout talent in the national media industry, citing the results of the prize's higher committee.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the award, called "Sheraa," is an annual initiative that aims to nurture and support exceptional talent within Kuwait's media industry, an effort that enjoys the firm backing of Kuwait's political leadership, the minister revealed as he announced the winners of the award's categories.
The award aligns with the information ministry's strategy focused on quality content, while reinforcing the principles of credibility, creativity, and professionalism. The announcement was made ahead of a ceremony to honor the winners slated for February 11.
In the individual category, Mohammad Murad won top honors for best photograph, while Abdullah Al-Enezi and Abdullah Buftain received awards for best cartoonist and interviewer, respectively. Hamad Al-Shemmari was named the best content creator, Turki Al-Rashidi won the best newspaper column award, and Yousef Al-Abdullah secured a prize for the best investigative report. The top critical analysis award went to Fudha Al-Meali.
In other recognitions, Hassan Al-Jenai was named leading "media personality," and interviewer Faisal Al-Aqil was acknowledged as the most promising youngster in the media industry. Local daily Al-Qabas received an award for its work on digital transformation.
