Kuwait Info. Min. Underlines Pan-Gulf Tourism Integration

Kuwait city: Kuwaiti Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi emphasized the importance of pan-Gulf tourism integration to fully utilize shared potential. Speaking during a virtual meeting of GCC tourism ministers, Al-Mutairi highlighted that such integration serves as a gateway to sustainable growth and income diversification, enhancing the region's global standing.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the meeting underscored the significant attention that Gulf leaderships place on tourism as a key pillar of economic and social development. The tourism sector is seen as a vital bridge for cultural and human interaction among regional and global communities. Al-Mutairi, chairing the pan-GCC event, conveyed greetings from key Kuwaiti leaders and expressed hopes for strengthened Gulf cooperation.

Al-Mutairi extended gratitude to the UAE for initiating this joint meeting, aimed at enhancing pan-GCC coordination before the 26th session of the United Nations General Assembly. This initiative seeks to unify Gulf countries' positions and enhance their visibility at the international event. Kuwait also supports Sheikha Al-Nowais' nomination for the role of secretary-general of the UN World Tourism Organization for the 2026-2029 term, which is viewed as a testament to the Gulf's influence on the international stage.

Furthermore, Al-Mutairi praised Saudi Arabia for hosting the 26th session of the UNWTO General Assembly, marking a significant moment in Gulf tourism diplomacy. He also acknowledged Bahrain's role in hosting the "Gateway Gulf," a platform fostering dialogue and cooperation in economic, investment, and tourism sectors to advance integration and strategic partnerships.
