Kuwait Hosts Asian Blind Union Workshops Under “Renewed Vision” Slogan

Kuwait city: The Asian Blind Union, in cooperation with the Kuwaiti Blind Association, organized regional workshops under the slogan "Renewed Vision," held over four days with participation from representatives of 18 Asian countries. The workshops are part of efforts to enhance joint action and exchange expertise in support of issues concerning blind and visually impaired persons across Asia.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the workshops were held under the patronage of the Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila. Representing the minister, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Social Care and Development at the ministry, Eman Al-Enzi, affirmed Kuwait's commitment to providing an integrated system of care and support, including legislation, social, educational, health, and rehabilitation services, to ensure a dignified life for persons with disabilities.

Al-Enzi highlighted Kuwait's support for associations concerned with persons with disabilities and emphasized the role of civil society as a partner in achieving development and empowerment. She noted Kuwait's dedication to humanitarian work, reflected in the registration of the Asian Blind Union's headquarters in the country, and congratulated Mansour Al-Enzi on his presidency of the union.

President of the Asian Blind Union, Mansour Al-Enzi, stated that the workshops serve as a platform for empowering blind persons and enhancing their capabilities. The workshops cover topics such as assistive technologies, entrepreneurship, capacity building, nutrition, and public health, which are essential for economic independence and improved quality of life.

Chairman of the Kuwaiti Blind Association, Fayez Al-Azmi, remarked that Kuwait's hosting of the workshops underscores the country's leading role in addressing issues concerning persons with disabilities. The slogan "Renewed Vision" reflects the organizers' belief in unifying efforts to improve the quality of life for blind persons.
