Kuwait City: Kuwaiti Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi has implemented new decisions to update the schedules concerning narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by introducing new items, aligning them with their legal categories.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the initiative aims to regulate pharmaceutical markets and safeguard society from the misuse of such drugs, as highlighted in a press release from the ministry. This step aligns with ongoing efforts to enhance monitoring of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
The ministry emphasized that this move reflects a commitment to staying abreast of the latest scientific developments and legislative changes in this field. Decision No. 29/2025 involves adding “Promethazine” to Schedule No. 1 of Law No. 74 of 1983. Furthermore, Decision No. 30/2025 includes the addition of items such as “Chloromethcathinone” and “Fluorodischloroketamine,” along with their derivatives, to Schedule No. 2 of Law No. 45/1987.
The ministry reiterated its continuous
dedication to revising drug control laws and regulations to ensure the highest standards of safety and public health are met.
