Kuwait city: Kuwait’s Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi met with Roslyn Morauta, Chair of the Global Fund Board to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, along with her delegation, to discuss enhancing cooperation in combating infectious diseases. The meeting aimed at strengthening global humanitarian efforts to address transboundary health challenges.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the Ministry of Health released a statement highlighting the discussions on improving international health programs targeting the eradication of AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria. The dialogue also emphasized the significance of achieving universal health coverage, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals.
Dr. Al-Awadhi reiterated Kuwait’s dedication to supporting global health initiatives that offer humanitarian benefits. He commended the Global Fund’s role in bolstering health systems and aiding low- and middle-income countries in their fight against epidemic diseases.
Roslyn Morauta, representing the Global Fund, acknowledged Kuwait’s contributions to global health initiatives. She noted the country’s developmental and humanitarian efforts have significantly impacted health improvement and life-saving activities worldwide.
