Kuwait city: The Kuwait Society for the Handicapped has inaugurated an art exhibition titled “Paintings of Determination and Beauty” at The Avenues Gallery. The exhibition, showcasing the artistic talents of people with disabilities, will be open to the public until October 28.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Chairperson Sabika Al-Jasser announced that the exhibition is the result of a training program being held for the fifth time. Sponsored by Kuwait Finance House and in collaboration with Kuwait Art Studio, the program aims to highlight the talents of people with disabilities and promote their social inclusion through fine arts.
The exhibition displays 12 artworks created by students with disabilities. Al-Jasser noted that these pieces are a testament to strong will and creativity, embodying perseverance and hope. She emphasized the Society’s commitment to supporting and encouraging individuals with disabilities to excel and actively participate in various fields.
Dr. Jawaher Al-Bader, a visual artist and training supervisor, shared with KUNA that the exhibition operates on the principle that “disability is not an obstacle to creativity.” She highlighted that art serves as a powerful medium for expression and communication, breaking down barriers.
Al-Bader added that the participants engaged in an intensive workshop where they showed great enthusiasm and a strong ability to express their feelings through painting. The artworks on display carry personal imprints and unique visual perspectives that reveal diverse experiences and deep artistic sensibility.
She also expressed gratitude to the supporters and partners who played a role in the exhibition’s success. The event aims to enhance public awareness of disability issues and underscore the creativity of people with disabilities as a vital part of Kuwaiti society.
